Women Helping All People (WHAP) is a non-profit social service organization that has been providing quality programs to the Marin County community of Marin City since 1990. The mission of WHAP is to empower low-income and underprivileged residents of Marin County with information, resources, support services, and educational opportunities so that they can acquire job skills, develop self-esteem, and reach economic self-sufficiency.
WHAP has been providing organizational excellence in the delivery of effective programs that serve the Marin City community, particularly low-income and people of color populations for over 30 years. WHAP’s staff is a cultural and ethnic reflection of the people it serves. WHAP’s current programs include a private Christian elementary and middle school, an after-school “Safe-House” tutorial program, a free thrift shop, a family-emergency critical needs program, a rental assistance program, Computer Training facility, an Environmental Leadership Summer Day Camp and Golden Gate Village resident advocacy. WHAP’s staff consists of educated and trained teaching and service professionals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds whose passion is to help all people - regardless of age, race, religious belief and everything in between.
Mrs. Royce McLemore is the co-founder and executive director of Women Helping All People. Her volunteer work at WHAP has extended over three decades and has impacted hundreds of families with programs and services that increase their quality of life and self-sufficiency.
