Women Helping All People Scholastic Academy

WHAP Scholastic Academy was established in 2000 to provide quality education for children of Marin City and the surrounding communities in a safe and protected environment.

Curriculum

WHAP Scholastic Academy follows the State of California course of study for each grade level. We comply with the Educational Task Force recommendations regarding academic achievements for each grade. The subjects emphasized in our curriculum program are Bible literature, communication, mathematics, science, history, computer technology, physical development, anthropology, art/music and traditional skills.

School begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday – Friday and ends at 3:00 p.m. (except on Friday; dismissal is at 1:30 p.m.).

Our Philosophy

WHAP Scholastic Academy is founded on Christian principles and the belief that when these principles are at the center of a student’s education, knowledge acquisition is transformative both spiritually and intellectually.

Our Mission

Our mission is to develop the minds of our students so that they become successful scholars who display critical thinking skills and a strong sense of self-worth, purpose, and community responsibility. We provide a loving, nurturing and supportive environment that enables our students to strive for excellence and become ethical and moral leaders of tomorrow.

Our Pedagogy

Quality Educational Instruction is ensured in a small-group, highly-individualized teaching environment  with a well-balanced curriculum of state standards that includes speech, reading and composition, mathematics, social studies, science and foreign language.

Spiritual Guidance that instills Christian character and values is integrated into the curriculum through prayer, Bible literature class and discussions.

Academic Enrichment is provided through extra-curricular activities such as field trips, environmental studies, nature hikes, student projects and computer literacy training.
